Marine Studies Trip Year 10 (2012/2013)
We,
the year 10 community arts group, had a field trip to a beach in Sepang to
study about the marine life in Malaysia and to learn ways we could preserve
Malaysia’s marine animals. I it was a long journey to Sepang, but we enjoyed
each other’s company. When we had arrived, we entered a small building where we
learnt a bit about insects and trees. Not long after that, we left the building,
and travelled a bit more until we reached the beach. We had a meal, and then separated
into two groups and each group had a guide. We walked along the beach, dodging
minefields of tiny crustaceans, learning about everything we could see. As we
walked along, some of us sunk into the sand and got muddy. Then we played a
game called “treasure hunt.” All of us were made into 4 groups and had a list
of things that we needed to make or collect. After the treasure hunt we headed
back to school.
