Love Reading!

Reading workshop started off on rocky roads. The challenge of creating a great show for kids proved to be a hard hurdle to cross. From shaky story-lines and plans for props, we have managed to create truly expressive and entertaining acts that fulfill our primary objective; to promote and provoke reading in children. The process of trial and error, imagining props and figuring out how to really entrance the kids developed our ability to think critically and identify problems, placing ourselves in their perspective. There is no doubt in my mind that the project has improved our confidence in interacting with children and performing as individuals and a team. More importantly, it spread joy and invoked the yearning to read. As a continuation to the Co-Arts legacy, we will be spreading our message past the boundaries of the school, giving back to the community.
