MIGS Thanksgiving Day, Dec 2015- A year 11 Co Art Initiative

Thanksgiving was a personal and heart-warming opportunity to give a group of less fortunate children a truly enjoyable night.

In conjunction with Children's Day, MIGS Thanksgiving was a grand sequence of events that set out to entertain and treat a group of less fortunate children and their caretakers.

After drawing out plans and mapping out the timelines we split into core groups that would focus on different essentials such as food and budgeting, games, music, stage management and so on. The event was spontaneous and although fast-paced and hectic; went by planned guidelines and followed the timing accordingly.

With performance practices, orphanage phone calls and stockpiling foodstuffs, MIGS Thanksgiving put us in many tough situations and served as a great learning experience for everybody.

At the end of the night cheery grins and goodbye waves were exchanged as the program packed up, each child went home with a quaint gift, ranging from football cleats to ribbons and accessories.

We hope to have more opportunities to help the less fortunate and give back to our local community.
